Hello hello! We're already running short on time, so to start this out just know that I'm sorry if I don't get around to replying to all your emails today..... I'm just a slacker and transfers have been totally whack. So know that I haven't forgotten you, it's simply that I'm a terrible person.......
But to continue on........ I'M GOING TO LONGVIEW (Spanish speaking)
Longview? Where's that? Let me tell you it's way out in the wilds of east Texas, way out there! Our area borders Louisiana, but don't be fooled because Longview is as Texas as they come! I couldn't be more excited! My new companion's name is Elder Morrissey. He's from Pocatello, and from the few times I've spoken with him, I already love the guy. Also I'm staying as a District Leader, so that will be great! We're going to baptize nations in our tiny little Spanish branch in the boonies!
As excited as I am for this new part of my mission, I am sad to be leaving Rio this transfer....... We had three solid baptisms lined up for the next couple weeks. (all people I've found, taught, and helped bring to this point.....) So I'm quite sad to miss their baptisms..... (I'll attach some pictures I took with them on Sunday......)
Here's a fun story from the week. Thursday we were running late to a ward activity, but still had to go teach a lesson with one of our progressing investigators named Juan. We were planning to teach the Word of Wisdom. We got in, taught the lesson in less then ten minutes, and before we knew what was happening we were running out the door with all his coffee in our arms. The real blessing was just how clearly he understood everything, and how willing he was to accept this new commandment and hand over all his coffee. It was a testimony to me of the power the Book of Mormon can have in our lives. Juan will be baptized on the 20th of April.
The church is true ya'll..... Live it and love it!
