Semana Treinta y Ocho (The Perks of North Dallas.......) (Allen)

Hello my peoples!

Yet again, another week has come and gone here in Allen! As you can probably tell from the picture below, we had an incredible zone conference in Mckinney this week! Man, talk about a spiritual FEAST! I always feel so pumped up and spiritually fed after zone conference. Our mission president, President Dalton, shared some powerful insights on virtue. So good. Additionally it was great to see some old friends. Also that was my first Zone Conference as a Zone Leader, so that was pretty cool.

In a lot of ways North Dallas (The general area where I'm serving........) is considered one of the more difficult areas to serve in, simply due to the wealth that's here. But it does have its perks. There are a TON of members that live in North Dallas! And not just members, but rich members! And that means going out to eat at places like the Cheese Cake Factory and other nice restaurants. It's funny because we'll be talking to people and offer them a card from "our church" just to find out that they're from our church.......... Go figure!

Lately I've really been focusing on being bold in my teaching. Is people know what you're saying to them is coming from a place of sincere love, it's surprising the how bluntl you can phrase things. Somtimes it can be really effective as well, helps them realize how important your message is.

Additionally, I spoke in church for the first time since coming out on my mission on Sunday. I spoke in the YSA branch on prophets, apostles, revelation, and prophecy, so that was fun. I don't know what it is, but I LOVE speaking in church! Weird I know........

But honestly, I just wanted to leave ya'll with my testimony and scripture before closing.  We have General Conference coming up in a few weeks. I hope you realize how huge that is. If you don't, just know it's crazy huge! Gods chosen servant and prophet, President Russell M. Nelson will address the world. I hope you do everything you can to prepare yourself. Don't waste this opportunity. It makes me think of when King Benjamin addressed the people. This is what he said.......

Mosiah 2:9

And these are the words which he spake and caused to be written, saying: My brethren, all ye that have assembled yourselves together, you that can hear my words which I shall speak unto you this day; for I have not commanded you to come up hither to trifle with the words which I shall speak, but that you should hearken unto me, and open your ears that ye may hear, and your hearts that ye may understand, and your minds that the mysteries of God may be unfolded to your view.

I'd invite each of you to ponder on that verse as we approach conference, because I know the more we prepare ourselves for conference, the more we'll take away.

Love ya'll! Have a great week!
