Semana Cincuenta y Ocho (Ghost Peppers and Cactus + Book of Mormon Musical)(Río Trinidad, TX)

Howdy howdy!

Hope ya'll have had a great week, things haven't slowed for a second here in Rio Trinidad so sit yourself down, buckle up, and grab something spicy to munch on (Preferably a jalapeno!) because we're diving in!

1. Book of Mormon Musical
Most of you have probably heard of the Book of Mormon Musical, and nasty show that makes fun of the church and missionaries....... Well it came to Dallas this week and myself and six other missionaries got special permission to stay out until 11 PM working the show in downtown Dallas. I've never felt so much like a circus animal..... From some people actively taunting us to others seeing us and wanting to get a picture with a "real" missionary, it was certainly an interesting experience........ Luckily we did have some success from it!

2. Cactus + Ghost Peppers
Second story from the week! Saturday we were biking back to our apartment during the Super Bowl when we saw these Hispanic people throwing a full blown party on the side of the road! (Hispanic people love to party, and if they can find a reason to celebrate, they celebrate! And everyone's invited! They're the best! 😂) But being the good missionaries we are we of course had to go crash the party! Before we knew what was happening, we had plates stacked high with carne asada and even some slabs of grilled cactus which was surprisingly good!

Additionally earlier in the week we were eating dinner at a members house, and we got onto the topic of hot peppers...... and welll, they didn't believe I could handle their super spicy ground Ghost Pepper+Habenero powder. And being me, I of course had to prove them wrong. One spoonful later....... well, let's say tears were shed....... 🌶🔥🌶

3. Life in the Hood
The work is going great here in Mesquite Texas! We're still actively teaching teaching Veronica, and as long as she keeps cominng to church it looks like she's going to be getting baptized on the sixteenth! But the work is going forward, and ain't nothing going to stop it!

Have a great week ya'll!
