Semana Cincuenta y Siete (Sushi-Stoned in Frisco.....)(Río Trinidad, TX)

What a whacky week.... Sheesh!

Here are the funny and spiritual highlights from the week I know ya'll are looking for!

1)  We finally did it, we broke the record of records! But first some background. We had interviews in Frisco this week, and whenever we have interviews in Frisco we always go to my all-time favorite sushi place, Love Sushi! ( $10 all you can eat sushi!) Well, we did it. Four Elders. 20 rolls of sushi. And we created a new term. SS'ed. (Sushi-stoned....) (the former record was seventeen rolls for four elders.......)

2) This week we texted a member of the ward to confirm a meal appointment with them that night.  They responded back simply,  "Olive Garden, 5 o'clock." (Kind of weird for a Hispanic member, but we didn't think anything of it at the time.....) Well 5 o'clock rolled around, and there we were at Olive Garden. No member in sight. 10 minutes passed, and so we decided to call the "member" back. Well........ It turns out the number we texted/called to confirm dinner that night was just some random dude who thought it would be hilarious to send the missionaries over to Olive Garden at 5 o'clock for a dinner that didn't exist....... That was an embarassing walk out. We went back to out apartment and made sandwiches.

3) Things are going great in the proselyting department. We're finding an average of 10 new investigators a week, and we've got a couple pretty solid progressing individuals who both came to church on Sunday. One is named Reyna, and she's been taught for a little while, but is struggling to make the final jump to baptism. And the second is named Veronica. She's AWESOME! She's the mom of a part member family that just moved here from California, and I honestly have no idea why she hasn't been baptized yet. She has a date for February 16th and she's pure gold! In addition last night we found and taught the restoration lesson to another golden family. Maria and Francisco!

I can tell I'm improving, but Spanish was a little bit rough this week....... I'm trying to speak it at a more advanced level, but not all the concepts and rules and words have fully sunk in yet, so it makes for a fun combination.......

Love ya'll have a blessed week!

P.S- The guy wearing the red shirt is known through out the mission simply as "Tim the Baptist". He's our resident local baptist who loves the missionaries and helps us out with anything and everything, but refuses to convert to the "true church". And trust me many a missionary has tried...... hence his shirt.
