Semana Sesenta y Uno (¡Que bonito!)(Río Trinidad, TX)

Whelp...... it's Monday again. Who'da thunk?

Anyways, another great week in Dallas slums! Lot's of biking, lot's of knocking, and actually quite a bit of finding and teaching this week. But in much more interesting news I picked up my new son on Tuesday! (Oh should I say my second adopted son......) His name is Elder Hodge, and he's from Layton UT for all you Utards out there...... (yes, that's what they call us......) But Elder Hodge is a great guy, and a hard worker. The reason he's my adopted son (to use mission lingo) is because he was orginally called to the Tampico Mexico Mission, but had to return home after only a week for a few months. But now he's back out in the field and waiting for another visa to Mexico. So he's my trainee for now, though as soon as his visa comes in he's out of here...... It's interesting, my last trainee (Elder Bailey) was called to Nicaragua for a month before being evacuated, and now I have a Mexican trainee. Coincidence, I think not! Well maybe..... I don't know. All I know is that with the one week Elder Hodge had in Mexico he didn't learn much Spanish, so it's really forcing me to improve quickly which though painful, I'm quite grateful for! #whenindoubtsaysi

Another highlight from my week, I got to go out on an exchange with my first companion from the MTC, Elder Peterson! Love that man! It was great to reunite and apply those skills we learned over a year ago in Utah here in the mission field! Good times!

And to bring it home I want to tell ya'll about my favorite lesson we taught this week. It was Saturday night, and we're were about to head home, but we decided to try the door of a man we had meet a few weeks before named Geraldo....... Well it turns out he was home and invited right in where we taught him about the Restoration of the Gospel. It was so great, he kept saying "que bonito!" ("that's beautiful!") to everything we said and when we told him about the Book of Mormon he could hardly contain his excitment and told us he was was going to read all of it! (this being before we had even invited him to do so.........) yep, the Lord certainly does prepare his children.

But ya...... that's pretty much my week. Church is true, book is true, and cuban spanish is the worst. Peace!
