Hello people in the outside world!
I know it's hard to believe, but all of a sudden another week has come and gone! (It's weird how time has a tendency to do that...............) But man, this week has really flown by! All of the sudden, I'm in the oldest district in my zone, and I'm receiving notices that I will be getting kicked out of the MTC at 3:50 AM on February 5th, to go to some place called Dallas!
Let's start at the beginning. Last Sunday I was happily and mindlessly going to my Sunday meetings when I was pulled aside and told that I was being released/fired from my calling as Sacrament coordinator. (This is after only one week of service mind you......) Whoops. I don't recall doing anything that bad........ But my confusion was soon put to rest when I was instead asked to become a District Leader! Mission accepted! I have seriously loved being District Leader so far! (You need to understand that I write that last sentence before having gone to my really early morning meeting tomorrow.............) Not that the calling has any perks, but I love conducting meetings, and having this opportunity to provide service and love for those missionaries in my district is awesome! So that was an exciting start to the week!
My hours of dedication, sitting in a corner mumbling words in Espanol, is finally starting to pay off! Spanish is going really well! One problem however........ I sound like a semi-intelligent person when I'm teaching a lesson about the gospel, but as soon as I start trying to talk about non gospel stuff I might as well just curl up in a ball on the floor and cry. (My vocabulary could use some help in that department.............)
We finished teaching my final lesson to our "investigator" the other day! His name is Mauricio, and out of the investigators those in my district are teaching he is one of the few who committed to be baptized! Whoot whoot! (Now Mauricio, who we are pretty confident attends BYU, can go become an investigator for some more competent missionaries!)
Now....... One picture below will probably stand out to you. No need to say which one. Anyways, the Elders in that picture left this week, but in their absence I have been promoted to the position of President of the ABA (Anti-Blender Association) (An organization in our games of 4-Square.......). This week in 4-Square we waged an epic war against the Portuguese Zone. It was intense. Let's leave it at that. ......................... In addition I have become a full time professional announcer for our games. (It essentially means that I get to scream about 4-Square for an hour everyday!) One Elder received a cake/brownies from his mom this week for her birthday, so we had quite the birthday celebration for her here at the MTC! (Another Elder had some Mountain Dew smuggled in, so the goods were passed around on the down low......)
Anyways, life is awesome! The spirit is so strong here, and I know that when we do what our Heavenly Father wants (Even if that means not throwing snow balls at one another........) we will be blessed (I speak from personal experience........), and the spirit will be there to guide us! I'm seriously so excited to get out in the field! The church is true, and I'm grateful for all your prayers (I'm pretty sure it's those prayers that get me up and out of bed every morning........).
Your favorite Elder,
~Elder Fox
