Semana Tres

Hello world!

Well at least I hope you're still there......... After three weeks my only one real line to the outside world has been my uncle who works here at the MTC. I hope you're all still alive, but I'm starting to doubt the world exists outside of the MTC. I'm loving my time here more and more. Last Domingo there was some excitement when the power went out, so we spent the majority of our day in the dark. I'm finally starting to get a rough feel for the Spanish language, and that makes my life 1000X easier! I'm teaching three lessons a week to our "investigator" named Mauricio, bu that's not including the other many other practice lessons. We have a challenge/game/insanity-trap in our district where we each have 5 liveseveryday. If you say something in English without trying in Spanish first you lose a life....... Once you hit zero for three days in a row you owe everyone a candy bar. I will not lose, even if it costs me my sanity. Honestly I feel so free to be thinking in English for this email!

Here at the MTC we don't have movies (Except for Meet the Mormons which is the standard go to.......), so we have to be a little more creative. One of the pictures below depicts Elder Larson in front of a white board describing/drawing/acting out the entire plot and story of inception. So yes, you can say we watch plenty of movies here. In fact, just the other day we watched Monsters INC. and 2001 A Space Odyssey......... So yes, you could say we're living the high life. In addition to this quality entertainment, Elder Bednar came and spoke to us Tuesday night. I don't know how he does it, but ever time I listen to him it blows my mind in a new way. He spoke in depth about priesthood keys and how prophets are called. It was intense.

I continue to be impressed by the "delicious" food here! In fact, a few days we had this suspicious/dry chicken patties on sandwiches........ Lo and behold, a couple days later those same breaded chicken patties ended up sliced into pieces and covered in sauce. The creativity of the cooks here never ceases to amaze! My zone continues to live for the extremely and ancient game of four square. The are four factions within the game. The Blender (A group of three elite members dedicated to knocking the people out of the first square!), the Master and his apprentice (Dedicated to purifying the game of those not in our zone, and removing try-hards!), the foolish pacifists, and of course the ABA (Anti-Blender-Association) who are dedicated to destroying the tyranny of the Blender at whatever costs. It's lead by President/Elder Philpot and I'm the first counselor in the resistance. As you can tell we take this game very seriously. I plan to come home a professional four-square player!

I forgot to mention this in my previous emails, but we've got a couple of cool Elders in my zone! So the nephew of the main cellist in the Piano Guys is in my district, and I hang out with him quite a lot. He gets signed things from his uncle pretty often and he hands them out! Also, this next guy is not in my district, but in my zone........ Before his mission he was a world champion video game player. Super rich, tons of success and fans. Payed to play video games for a living. (He's told us stories about fans stalking him and stuff..........) But he gave that all up to come and serve a mission. He's an awesome dude!

I've become a bit of a study-holic here at the MTC........ I just seriously want to be able to speak this language! On Friday, we were all packed into the devotional hall for President Monson's Funeral, which was really good except for the one thing. The chairs in that room are designed for one purpose.......... To keep missionaries awake at all costs. Let's just leave it at that.

Now I'm pointing out all these little things, but you need to understand that I would not give up my time here for the world. I'm loving what I'm doing. If I were to be released they would have to drag me out. This place is truly incredible! This church is true. I'm working harder than I ever have, and having more fun than I ever have. Thank you all so much for the support and emails! You're all incredible people. Though I miss you, this is where the Lords me to be, and I am more than happy to follow him.

Texas, here I come! (In three more weeks..........)
