Howdy howdy!
Hope ya'll are doing well. Life continues to roll on here in TDM (Texas Dallas Mission). If you were to ask me to describe my week it would probably go as follows. Work and more work. Lots of lessons, lots of tracting (Which weirdly enough results in callused knuckles!), and lots spiritual goodness. Despite our hard consistent work we didn't find too much success this week, but we're still meeting every day with four or five of our top investigators who are preparing to be baptized in September. So that's pretty slab!
Some interesting stuff from the week.... On Tuesday we had interviews with President Dalton over in Frisco (Over an hour away!), so that was good! I respect President Dalton a lot. He's extremely business-man like and very professional, but you can tell he loves us.
A couple nights ago we had this HUGE Texas lightning storm! I've never seen anything like it! It was actually kind of freaky, but we're still here to tell the tale, so I guess that's a plus. One day for lunch we fried some chicken strips...... Being the oh-so-wise missionaries we are we decided we to see what else could be fried. Who knew deep fried broccoli was a thing!
Whataburger! You may have heard about this fast food restaurant, but it's HUGE here!! People practically worship it, and hold it superior to all other food places. And this may be blasphemy, so don't tell anyone, but I don't really think Whataburger is anything special...... It's just another burger place. Strike me down!
This last week has been incredibly humid, you start sweating just by standing outside..... It's very green, very humid, and very hot. Looking forward to the fall.
But to be honest that about raps it up for this week. I love my study time each day. And as good as it is to read the scriptures I would encourage each of you to study them. Grab a pen, grab a notebook, and study. Find a verse with some interesting doctrine, or a question you may have and just roll with it. Go to the topical guide, go to the footnotes, look up conference talks that address it, search the verse/topic on LDS.org! Just take it in! Don't just read it, appreciate it and move on. Turn it into your own personal wisdom. Absorb it it and turn that verse into somthing that will deepen your faith and testimony of the gospel. I think too often we limit ourselves on what is offered to us in the gospel. Don't miss out. If you're willing to go through the effort to read, you might as take the next step and turn that reading into personal knowledge, wisdom, and revelation. Record that wisdom, so you can refer back to it in times of need.
Jesus lives and loves you. Don't forget it.
