Goodmorning my people! What is happening?
You know what, I'll just tell you....... It's P-day, the church is true, and things are bumping here in Rio! So ya..... #blessed
The work is going pretty well, a couple weeks ago we had a some investigators progressing towards baptism, but sadly they've kind of disappeared, so these last couple weeks we've been doing a lot of finding in an effort to have more people to teach. And the nice thing is that we're just now starting to see the fruits of our efforts. That is to say sifting the gold (those who are willing to keep commitments) from the masses of "flakes"..... (that's one of the difficulties of working with Hispanics, they're way too nice and never want to say no.... So is the life of a missionary.)
In way of interesting things that happened this week, an hermana in the ward passed away and we had her funeral on Thursday. I'm not sure how, but somehow myself, Elder Hodge, and the other Río companionship all got roped into performing a musical number at the funeral. I played piano, the other three sang, and miraculously we made it all the way through without any mistakes. Have miracles ceased? I say unto you.... Nay!!
Also it's kind of stupid, but we were knocking doors and there was this super loud and annoying chihuahua guarding this door we were trying to knock...... Finding humor in the situation, my dear companion couldn't help but snap a picture of me and the little beast. May it burn in hell. Sorry, that was maybe a bit harsh. #guardchihuahua
But ya, lot's of biking, knocking, and preaching the word in Spanish. Also we had our interviews with President Dalton this week in Frisco, so that was good. Since our Zone broke the high water mark for baptisms last transfer, president took our zone out to one of our favorite restraunts called Raising Cane's, so that was pretty lit! But to wrap this up, life is just flying by here in the mission field. Crazy to think I will hit my 15 month mark later this month. Where is the time going?
Love ya'll! Have a blessed week!
